2025-26 Registration

WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOU START

• Find the age right bracket.

  • Brackets are based on the age of your child on September 1, 2025. 

  • U4, U6, ..., U12 are two-year brackets for players under that age on September 1st.

    • U8, for example means 'Under 8' (i.e. 6 or 7) on September 1st.

  • Notes for some brackets.

    • U4: No USA Rugby Registration is required, but you must fill out a waiver. A parent must be present and available during practice to assist when necessary so the coach can focus on the team and not individual ruggers.

    • U6-U12: follows the Rugby Texas Progression of Play (PoP). Contact is slowly introduced starting with U10. 

    • MS (U14): has separate boys and girls sides with a focus on 6th-8th graders.

      • If a player is 14 on September 1, and is in the 8th grade, the player can request a waiver to play on the MS side. Register for the U14 team and discuss the waiver with your coach.

    • HS (15-18) has separate boys and girls sides.

      • HS is 9th-12th grade.

        • If a player is between 15 and 18 on September 1, you are eligible to play HS Rugby.

        • A player cannot be 19 on September 1, and play even if they are still in high school.

        • If a player is 14 on September 1, in high school, and wants to play on the HS team, you and a coach will need to sign a waiver, and follow a few additional safety guidelines. You can find the waiver and additional safety rules here. 

        • If a player is 15 on September 1, 2025 AND in 8th grade, select high school.

    • After registering, our coaches will work with you to get your player on the right team even if a waiver is needed to move a player up or down given size, experience, or other factors. 

• For players annual dues are paid to .

  • USA ($30) and Texas Rugby ($55) +fees for insurance, referees, tournaments etc. These are both paid in Step 1 below.

  • Huns Youth Rugby Fees range from $40 (U4) up to $312 (High School). These cover LATs, groundskeeping, lights, food for socials, t-shirts, jerseys, property taxes, and insurance. The coaches and administration are volunteers. These are paid in  Step 2 below.

  • We have discounts for children of our volunteer coaches, family discounts, and a limited number of scholarship discounts. Reach out to youth@hunsyouthrugby.com if you are eligible or interested.
