2026-27 Registration

WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOU START

• Find the age right bracket.

  • Brackets are based on the player's age on September 1, 2026. 

  • U4, U6, ..., U12 are two-year brackets for players under that age on September 1st.

    • U8, for example means 'Under 8' (i.e. 6 or 7) on September 1st. 

  • Notes for some brackets.

    • U4: 

      • No USA Rugby Registration is required, but you must fill out a Huns Youth Rugby Waiver. 

      • A parent must be present and available during practice to assist when necessary so the coaches can focus on the team and not individual ruggers.

    • U6-U12: 

      • We follow the Rugby Texas Progression of Play (PoP). 

      • Contact is slowly introduced starting with U10. 

    • MS (U14):

      • has separate boys and girls sides with a focus on 6th-8th graders.

      • If you player is 11 and in 6th grade, register for the U12 side and discuss waiver options to pick the right side (U12 or MS) for your player.

      • If a player is 14 on September 1, and is in the 8th grade, the player can request a waiver to play on the MS side. Register for the U14 team and discuss the waiver with your coach.

      • If a player is 15 on September 1, 2025 AND in 8th grade, select high school.

    • HS (15-18) 

      • Has separate boys and girls sides with focus on 9th-12th grade.

      • If a player is between 15 and 18 on September 1, you are eligible to play HS Rugby.

      • A player cannot be 19 on September 1, and play even if they are still in high school.

  • Our coaches will work with you to get your player on the right team even if a waiver is needed to move up or down given their size, experience, or other factors. 

  • We have discounts for children of our volunteer coaches. We have family discounts. We also have a limited number of scholarship discounts. Reach out to youth@hunsrugby.com if you are eligible or interested.
