COVID Safety

Committed to Safety

At Huns Youth Rugby we aren't just coaches and administrators, we're parents. We care about your kid's safety, as well as our own, in every aspect of our program. COVID-19 has introduced some new challenges, but we are prepared to take all necessary precautions in order to keep all of our kids safe.

Self Assessment for Parents and Players

If you are experiencing any sickness or anything that is considered a symptom of COVID-19 please STAY HOME. For more information on self testing and when to consider getting tested for the virus visit the CDC's website. According to the CDC, some common symptoms to look for are:

  • Fever or chills

  • Cough

  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

  • Fatigue

  • Muscle or body aches

  • Headache

  • New loss of taste or smell

  • Sore throat

  • Congestion or runny nose

  • Nausea or vomiting

  • Diarrhea

What to Expect at Practice

Practice will be planned based on the current allowable activities and group sizes per USA Rugby and Travis County stages.

Individuals exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms (see self assessment) will be asked to leave the premises and will not be allowed back to activities for 10 days.

Spectating Responsibly

Parents are always welcome to attend practice and cheer on their children. We also LOVE for our parents to volunteer as coaches! For more info on that visit the Coaches Corner.

Being a safe spectator means just being respectful for your own safety as well as the people around you. Many people have different levels of comfort with COVID-19.

Positive Case Reporting and Contact Tracing

Any individual testing positive for COVID 19 or experiencing symptoms after participating in a Huns Youth Rugby practice or other event should contact hansel@hunsrugy.com.

Contact tracing will include any individuals known to have come into close contact with the player, spectator, volunteer, or coach. Close contact is defined at 6 feet or less. These individuals will be contacted via email with contact notification. Confidentiality of the reporting party will be a priority.
